IF SHE LEAVES follows Azhe, a bright young Vietnamese woman who migrates to Taiwan through a brokered marriage, and her husband Long, a disabled garlic farmer 20 years her senior, as they struggle with poverty and stigma to keep their family together. With an intimate style that chronicles the couple’s struggle over 3 years, IF SHE LEAVES explores the personal and societal repercussions from international brokered marriages across Asia.
